Universal Wrecking Corp. was tasked with the scrap metal processing of buses, trucks and cars located on a client's 100 acre site. The goal was to sort, separate and recycle as much of the vehicle as possible in order to maximize the return to the client.
Prior to demolition, all oils, gas and anti-freeze were drained from the vehicles and placed into 55 gallon drums for transportation and disposal/recycling. All tires were shredded onsite and sent offsite to a cement kiln to be used as a fuel source. Universal Wrecking Corp. also completed final grading and restoration. In total, approximately 4,000 tons of scrap metal were processed onsite and recycled.
The work was completed in three (3) months using the following equipment:
A Cat 330L Excavator with a LaBounty MSD 70 Shear attachment
A Cat 330 Excavator with LaBounty Grapple attachment
A Cat 320L Excavator with a grapple attachment and a Ohio Magnet
Two (2) bobcat skid steers 843 with demo grapple attachments Various support equipment 8 employees consisting of operators and laborersThe recycling project was completed without injury.
